WM. McLAUGHLIN DIES AT AGE OF 66 YEARS
- The death of Wm. McLaughlin, member of a well known pioneer family of this county, occurred Saturday at his home in Hanover township, from a heart attack, following a few days' illness.
Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McLaughlin and was born in Hanover township March 18, 1869 and had he lived three days longer he would have attained the age of 67 years.
That vicinity had been his home his entire life with the exception of ten years spent on a claim in North Dakota. He never married, but resided on the farm with his brother Thomas and sister Margaret.
Others who deeply mourn his passing are a brother and two sisters, John, and Mrs. Will Collins, Union Prairie Township and Miss Josephine of Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Dorchester Catholic church. A requiem mass being celebrated by Fr. Denvir. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.*
*the cemetery does not physically "adjoin" the church, but rather is more than a mile away, high on a hill.
