Clarence M. Young, 97, Route 2, Auburndale, died at 1:20 a.m. Friday at Bethel Living Center, Aprin, [sic] where he had been a patient since Jan. 25.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stratford Community Bible Church. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, with the Rev. Kenneth V. Chadbourn officiating, Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Thomas, Robert, Arthur, Charles and James Young, Clarence Davis and Larry Nankey.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Monday at Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield and from 10 a.m. To the time of services Tuesday at the church. A prayer service is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born April 4, 1891, in Alamakee County, Iowa [sic], to William and Elizabeth Young. He was a graduate of Lansing High School in Lansing, Iowa.

He married Fae C. Goodell on May 1, 1917, in Lansing.

He farmed in Lansing for five years. In 1922, the couple moved to the town of Green Valley in Marathon County where they farmed until his retirement. He lived on the farm until entering Bethel Living Center two weeks ago.

He was a member of the School Board and cheese factory board for the town of Green Valley. He was also a charter member of the Stratford Community Bible Church and served on the Church Board.

Survivors include two sons, Norris of Wausau and Norbert of Auburndale; a daughter, Vivian Davis of Avoca; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, who died on Sept. 12, 1984; two brothers; two sisters and a great-grandchild.
