Sudden Death at Waukon.
C. O. Howard, one of Waukon’s oldest residents and widely known business men, died at 3 a. m., the 7th, so suddenly that he expired ere the physician could get to his bedside. He had been suffering for several weeks from a malignant carbuncle, but was supposed to be recovering, when a sudden collapse set in and death came because of heart weakness. He was born in Maine in 1840; came to Iowa in 1854, and had been in business in Waukon since 1875.
