AMELIA L. MEYER
Services were conducted from the Schutte Funeral Home, Saturday, Nov. 29, for Amelia L. Meyer, who passed away Nov. 27, 1969, at the Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The Rev. Robert Henriksen officiated.
Amelia Meyer was born June 16, 1878 in Garnavillo township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Meyer. She was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, and was confirmed there by Pastor Diekoff, April 17, 1892. She lived in the Garnavillo area until 1945 when she moved to Postville with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Foran with whom she made her home.
In January, 1968 she took up residence at the Luana Rest Home and in April 1969 she moved to the Golden Age Home at McGregor where she remained in good health until the past few weeks. Tuesday afternoon she was taken to the Memorial Hospital, where she passed away.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and four sisters. She leaves to mourn: two sisters, Mrs. Adelia Foran, Waukon, and Mrs. Carrie Meyer, Garnavillo, and many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
