Robert Gordon

Robert Gordon was born October 3, 1885 in Clayton county, known as Henderson Prairie located three miles south of Postville. He died October 6, 1965 at the home of his daughter, Ethyl in Waukon, where he had resided since 1943.

He was united in marriage to Dora Eppens of Calmar, on September 10, 1905. To this union were born three children.

Mr. Gordon spent his entire life in the Postville and Waukon communities. He was an employee of the Louis Hill Plumbing and Heating firm from 1911 until 1937, when he joined the Fitzgerald Plumbing and Heating firm of Waukon where he and his family located.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gordon; six brothers, Wallace, Alfred, Oscar, John, Howard and Frank; his wife Dora; and one son, Willard.

He is survived by his son Walter of Baldwin Park, California and one daughter, Ethyl of Waukon; one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home Saturday, October 9, at 2:00 p.m. Floyd Gettman, Minister of the Monona Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses officiated. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
