LANSING- Virginia Lenz, 91, of Lansing, Died Sunday, June 30, 2002 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, of natural causes. She was born Jan. 1, 1911, in rural Lansing, daughter of Edwin and Caroline Reed Cooper. She married Curtis Lenz on June 7, 1937 in St. Louis.

Mrs. Lenz worked as a telephone operator for 11 years, and in 1976 went to work as a bookkeeper for the family business, Lenz Garage. She was a founder of the Upper Iowa Saddle Club.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Roger (Jo) of Lansing and Keith (Jan) of Waukon; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law, Cora Cooper of Albuquerque, N.M., Muriel Cooper of Waukon, Ella Cooper of Spirit Lake, and Alice Underwood of Lansing.
Freeman, Edwin, and Robert Cooper and a sister-in-law Evelyn Lenz.

Services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday at Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Lansing, Friends may call from 4 to 7P.M. Thursday at Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home, Lansing, and 1 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
