Arlene Marie Schulte, 78, of Harpers Ferry, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her residence.

Arlene Marie Gavin was born August 24, 1933 at Harpers Ferry. She was the daughter of Ben and Laurayne Boardman Gavin.

She was a 1950 graduate of Harpers Ferry High School.

On February 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Clem J. Schulte at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry. Arlene was an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, serving in the Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing Euchre and Scrabble and was an avid Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan.

She is survived by six children, Shirley Feuerhelm of Prairie du Chien, Betty Irons of Waukon, Jenny Schulte of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, Marita (Tom) Clark of North Liberty, Iowa, Clem (Heather) Schulte Jr., of Lansing, Dan Schulte of Waukon; one brother, Tom (Jan) Gavin of Swisher, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clem on December 23, 2009; a daughter Karen Schulte and a son-in-law, Ron Feuerhelm.
