Ervin A. Peterson, 71, of Decorah, died May 28 at the V.A. Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services were held May 31 at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Hasvold officiating. Organist was Connie Bolson and soloist was Donna Bahr. Sensor-French Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with burial at the Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Verne Koeing, Joseph Sheridan, Edward Klosterboer, Ransome Bolson, Larry Grimstad and Alfred Kvammen.

Ervin Peterson was born Jan. 31,1917, in Winneshiek County. He attended rural schools of Winneshiek County, and served as a corporal in U.S. Army anti-aircraft and military police from 1943 to 1946.

He married the former Lucille Johnson in 1938 in Mabel, Minn. She preceded him in death in 1957. In April of 1958 he married Dorothy Bray of Postville at Hauge Lutheran Church.

From 1937 to 1942 he was associated with R. W. Klinker Ford Dealership. He established his own Willis-Overland dealership in Calmar in 1946. In 1951 he moved his dealership to Decorah, where he sold Kaiser-Frazer, Henry J, Lincoln Mercury and Edsel automobiles and Allis Chalmers tractors and implements.

He is survived by his mother, Lenora Peterson of Mabel, Minn.; his wife Dorothy; three brothers, Robert, Charles and John Jr., all of Decorah; and three sisters, Lucella (Mrs. Virgil) Bender of Decorah, Doris (Mrs. Walter) Bender of Decorah, and Helen ( Mrs. Rev. Paul) Hougen of Denver, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father.
