Services For A. Ruckdaschel

Funeral services for Anna Ruckdaschel were held Saturday, Oct. 16, 1982 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. The Rev. David R. Nelson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Anna Emilie Ruckdaschel, daughter of John C. and Caroline (Miene) Schroeder, was born Sept. 3, 1896 in Clayton County, Iowa, near Postville. She died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1982 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was baptized Nov. 15, 1896 and confirmed March 20, 1910 both at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She attended the Henderson Prairie School.

On Nov. 14, 1917 she was married to Walter C. Ruckdaschel at Postville, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. They lived on the farm on the south edge of Postville until 1950 when they built a house and moved into town.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter, who died in 1962, her parents, three sons, Leo, LaVern and Lyle, two grandsons, Richard and Thomas Ruckdaschel, a brother, Arthur Schroeder and two step-brothers, Bill and Fritz Oestmann.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Darlene) Roberts of Waterloo, Ia, two daughters-in-law, Loretta Ruckdaschel of Kansas City, MO and Jane Ruckdaschel of Postville, eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church.
