Hold Last Rites For Harold Rima
Funeral services for Harold "Brownie" Rima, 75, were held Saturday, July 5, 1980 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Postville. The Rev. A. A. McAvoy officiated with the Rev. Donald Kruse assisting.
Harold Anthony Rima, son of Warden and Rena (Thoman) Rima, was born November 2, 1905 at Decorah. He died July 3, 1980 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.
May 9, 1931 he was married to Macie Meyer at Elkader. The couple moved to Postville in 1936 where "Brownie" and Macie operated a cafe for thirty-one years retiring in 1967.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Mike Walsh; a son Neil in 1946; a grandson Chris Rima; and two sisters, Kay Johnson and Tress Glass.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gene of Strawberry Point and Jim of New Hampton; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Ward of Decorah; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Anastasi of Vandyne, Wis., Mrs. Merlin (Bernice) Schroeder of Decorah, and Mrs. Miles (Maxine) Cronin of Des Moines; and a stepsister Mrs. Alfred (Nellie) Stortz of Decorah.
