WALTER SANDER 1891-1950

Funeral services are being held today, Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral home and 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Walter Sander, 57, who passed away at the family home near Postville.

Walter Fred Sander, son of Christ Sander and Caroline Schultz Sander, was born in Post township on August 31, 1891 and grew to manhood in this community.

He was united in marriage to Amanda Schutte of Castalia, April 20, 1920 and to this union three children were born. Mr. Sander spent his entire life in this community.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife and three children, Irene, Mrs. Leonard Wiedeman of Cedar Rapids; Willard and Wayne at home; three grandchildren; four brothers, George of Luana, Otto, Carl and Eldo, of Postville; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Foels of Postville and Mrs. Mahala Meyer of Luana.

Mr. Sander was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Emma, Mrs. John Diederichs, Ida, Mrs. Charles Schutte, and Caroline, Mrs. Walter Muchow, and one brother, Conrad.
