Mrs. Fred Schara Interred Monday

Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 25, 1971 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran church, Postville, for Mrs. Fred Schara who died October 22, 1971 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.

Jennie Louise Charlotte Schroeder Schara, daughter of William Schroeder and Wilhelmina Loeffler Schroeder was born November 6, 1887 in Allamakee County, Iowa.

She was baptized January 8, 1888 and confirmed March 31, 1901 in St. Paul Lutheran church where she was a member at the time of her death.

January 12, 1910 she was united in marriage to Fred C. Schara. They were the parents of six children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, LaVern John and a great grandchild Bobbette Schara, two sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Verla (Mrs. Carl Strein) of Waterloo; four sons, Harlan and Ray of Postville; Kenneth and Charles of Austin, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
