The remains of a former Lansingite, Joseph Smith, arrived here on Tuesday morning from De Soto, and were interred in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mr. Smith passed away at his home in De Soto, aged 67. He was born in Pennsylvania and was married to Miss Louisa Goble. He had been in the harness trade here for many years, but of late years resided in De Soto.

The remains of Joseph H. Smith, our whilsome harness maker, were brought to this city from DeSoto, his late home, yesterday morning and interred in Oak Hill cemetery.

Deceased was sixty-seven years of age last November and leaves a widow and adopted daughter, Mrs. John Gantenbine; three brothers, Jackson of Waukon, Gideon W. of DeSoto and Sam of Jamestown, N.Y.; and one sister, Mrs. Hale of this city, to mourn the loss of a kind husband and affectionate brother.

Deceased died quite suddenly being around as usual at his work Saturday, and on going home that evening was stricken with heart failure while waiting for supper.
