RITES FOR MRS. WALTER SCHULTZ 1896-1968
Funeral services were held Saturday October 12, for Mrs. Walter Schultz at 2:00 P.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia with the Rev. Arthur J. Tolo in charge of the rites. Mrs. Schultz, 71 passed away October 9, at the Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin following a heart attack. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia.
Mrs. Walter (Elsie Schroeder) Schultz, the daughter of John and Martha (Brandt) Schroeder was born October 27, 1896 in rural Postville area. She was baptized on May 30, 1897 and confirmed May 1912 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She received her education in the Castalia rural school.
On December 30, 1914 she was married to Walter H. Schultz at the Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia, a membership she continued until her death. She also was a member of the Rebecca Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on February 17, 1960, a son, Everett, and a sister, Ruth (Mrs. Claude Weaver).
She is survived by five sons and one daughter: Lavern and Kenneth of Castalia; Violet (Mrs. E. K. Smith) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Ralph of Ossian; Ronald of Monona; and Charles of Corpus Christi, Texas and the following brothers and sisters: Louis Brandt, Rossville; Herbert Schroeder, Emma (Mrs. W. C. Koenig) and Florence (Mrs. Ed Preuss) of Castalia; Clara (Mrs. Emil Arndt) and Selma (Mrs. Alvin Neuhring) of Mason City; 18 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
