Postville, Ia. - Funeral services will be held here Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for George J. Schroeder, 63, prominent Northeastern Iowa building contractor, who died Wednesday afternoon following a lingering illness.

The Rev. Frederick Ludwig, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Postville Cemetery.

Mr. Schroeder was born Oct. 12, 1876 on a farm west of Postville. On Jan. 11, 1900, he was married here to Miss Mary Koenig. They since made their home in Postville. The past 40 years he was engaged in the contracting and building business.

He is survived by his widow; one son, Emmett of Frankville; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be: Blake Rathburn, Walter and Arthur Brandt, Elbie Christofferson, Ray Putnam, and Herman Webb.
