New Albin, Iowa - George Toedter Sr., 71, retired New Albin area farmer, died Saturday, March 16, in a La Crosse hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Brothers Funeral Home at Waukon, Rev. Al Ebert of Lansing officiating, and burial will be in the New Albin Cemetery.

Friends were to call after 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1902, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 19. He married Frances Hagen April 27, 1927, and she died in 1970.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald Leppert of Lansing; one son, George Jr. of New Albin; five grandchildren; and one sister, Marie, living in Germany.
