Andrew Olson Passes Monday
90 Year Old Waukon Man Came to U.S. at Age of 20 Years

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Andrew Olson, who passed away in Waukon Monday, May 12 at the age of 90 years.

Mr. Olson was born Nov. 15, 1850 in Norway. At the age of 20 years he came to the United States and settled in Allamakee county. In 1910 he moved to Waukon which has since been his home. Other places he has lived have been in New Albin, and St.Paul, Minnesota.

Mr. Olson was married to Nina Olson in 1875 at New Albin. Mrs. Olson and two children, Mrs. Hattie Damburger, Dubuque, and Mrs. Stella Waldron, Canada, preceded him in death. A son, Leo Olson of Waukon survives his father. Other survivors include four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Olson was a farmer by vocation. He was a member of the Lutheran church.

The Reverend P.F. Kjorlaug officiated at the funeral services which were held from the home of Mr. Olson. Interment was made at Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Goepel, Gilman Hanson, William McCormick, Peter Sweeney, Robert Connor, and John Riley.

Out of town relatives included Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Viseger of New Albin and Mrs. William Poehling of LaCrosse, Wiconsin.
