Funeral services for John A. Pederson, 74, of the Waterloo YMCA, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Brothers Funeral Home in Waukon, where friends may call after Friday noon. Friends may also call at Chapel of Memories West here until 9 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Pederson died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the YMCA of a heart attack.
He was born Aug. 29, 1898, at Waterville, the son of Gabriel and Ida Bryson Pederson. He married Esther Larson at Waterville in 1920. Mr. Pederson was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad, retiring in 1952 due to a heart condition, and he had lived in the Waterloo area since 1955.
Mr. Pederson was a member of Waukon Lodge No. 154 AF & AM, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Becker-Chapman Post No. 138 of the American Legion. He served with the Army during World War I.
Survivors include two sons, Ezra John of 1836 Sager Ave. and Warren G. of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Delbert (sic Delver) Johnson of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Herbert Rissman of Waukon; 16 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred S. of Delray Beach, Fla., and Victor of San Francisco, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Hahlein (sic Haehlen) of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth McWilliams of Santa Cruz, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and two brothers.

Waterloo, Ia. - John Arthur Pederson, 74, of Waterloo, and formerly of Waterville, Ia., died Wednesday in the YWCA at Waterloo.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Funeral Home at Waukon, Ia., where friends may call Friday evening. Burial will be in the Waterville Lutheran Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, Ezra (Jack) Pederson of Waterloo, and Warren of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Delbert (sic Delver) Johnson of Guttenberg, Ia., and Mrs. Herbert Rissman of Waukon; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Pederson of Delray Beach, Fla., and Victor Pederson of San Francisco, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Herman Halhein (sic Haehlen) of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth McWilliams of Santa Cruz, Calif.
