Marvin Douglas Flack, age, 87, of Postville, Iowa died on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa following a long illness. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the Forest Mills United Methodist Church, rural Postville, Iowa. Rev. Steve Campbell and Pastor Bud Swenson officiated.

Marvin Douglas Flack was the son of Vern and Alys (Clausen) Flack. He was born on May 30,1917 in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. He attended country school through the seventh grade. On May 27, 1939 Marvin was united in marriage with Cassilda Tindell in Postville. They had two children. Marvin owned and operated Flack Manufacturing in Postville for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, and gardening.

Marvin is survived by his children Carol (Gene) Thompson of Davenport, Iowa and James Flack of Fridley, Minnesota; two grandchildren Andrew Thompson of Davenport and Theodore Thompson of Albia, Iowa; and one sister Mildred Larson of Waukon, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cassilda who died in August of 1985; and two brothers Wayne Flack and Manford Flack. Casket bearers were Gene Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Theodore Thompson, Kermit Peterson, and Hartley Enyart, Jr.
