Clara Alvina Waterman
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 1, 1975 at 1 p.m. at Martin Brothers funeral home in Waukon for Mrs. Clara Alvina Waterman, 77, Waukon, who died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1975 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. The Rev. Dan Larson presided and burial was in Oakland cemetery.
She was born April 8, 1898 in Winneshiek county and her parents were Fred and Amelia Grotegut Bechtel.
She married Fred Kruger in 1914 and he preceded her in death. She married Henry Waterman in 1942.
Three sons, Reuben and Alfred Kruger of Waukon and Amos Kruger of Cedar Rapids, remain, with 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Another son, Robert Kruger, is deceased. A brother, Art Bechtel of Postville, survives with two sisters, Mrs. Emma Snitker of Waukon and Mrs. Art (Esther) Hesse of Postville. Deceased brothers and sisters are Ben, Martin, Alvina and Anna.
She was educated in the local schools and was a housewife and operated a nursing home. Pallbearers were Ben, Reuben, Emmett, Walter, George and Elmer Winkie.
Notes: Fred William Kruger died 08 Feb 1934. His parents were Conrad Kruger and Minnie Flage. Henry Waterman died in 1954. His parents were Jerry D. Waterman and Nellie White. Robert Kruger died in 1972 or 1978. Brother Ben died 1969; sisters died, Alvina 1972 and Anna in 1966.
