IN MEMORIAM

To our dear husband and father, George Clark, who passed away two years ago today, May 23, 1921:
Today recalls sad memory
Of a loved one gone to rest.
And in our hearts there is a longing
To have him with us just once more.
For in life we loved him dearly
And in death we do the same.
Life was desired, but God did see
Eternal rest was best for thee.
Mrs. Mae Clark and Daughters,
Catherine and Margaret.

In my grandmother's things.
She lived in Clayton and Allamakee county, so
assume from one of the papers there.
