Rites Are Held For Mrs. Geo. Schroeder

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. George Schroeder, 74, from the home at Frankville at 2:00 o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran Church here at 2:30 with Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig officiating. Mrs. Schroeder passed away May 11 at her home in Frankville. Burial was in Postville cemetery.

Mary Charlotte Koenig Schroeder, daughter of William Frederick Koenig and Charlotte Meyer Koenig, was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1876 at Farmersburg, and departed this life on May 11, 1951, at her home in Frankville, aged 74 years.

Mrs. Schroeder was received into active membership in the Lutheran Church in the St. Paul's congregation of Postville in 1891.

Mrs. Schroeder was united in marriage with George J. H. Schroeder of Postville on January 11, 1900. To this union one son, Emmett, was born who survives the passing of his mother.

Mrs. Schroeder spent her entire life as a resident of Northeast Iowa. She was born at Farmersburg. At an early age she accompanied her parents to a farm near Castalia. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder established their home in Postville. Mrs. Schroeder remained a resident of Postville until some nine months ago when she moved to Frankville in order to be near her son and family. It was at her home in Frankville that she died.

Left to mourn her passing are her son, Emmett, of Frankville; Three brothers; Louis Koenig of Postville, William Koenig and Fred Koenig of Castalia; one sister: Mrs. Minnie Poesch of Postville; two grandchildren.

Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death of her husband; her parents and four sisters: Louise, Mrs. Charles Kaiser, Rosina, Mrs. Fred Ruckdaschel, Lena, Mrs. Reuben Christofferson, and Emma, who died in infancy.
