George Weber, who with his wife, had lived on the farm just east of Dorchester for thirty-five years, died June 14th at his home of heart trouble which developed after a sunstroke three years ago. His health has been failing for a year past. Born in Germany fifty-seven years ago, he came to this country in 1874 to join two brothers, Herman and Henry and a sister who preceded him.
In 1879 he was married to Miss Paus. There were eight children, one of whom is dead. Those at home are Sara, Cora, Pearl and George. The others are Mrs. Gus Dreselhaus who lives nearby, Mrs. Geo. Wiebke of Caledonia, and Mrs. John Grice of Dubuque. The funeral was held June 16th in the Evangelical Lutheran burying ground at Eitzen with church services in charge of Rev. Klein. Deceased, while not an early pinoeer, was one of that army of Germans who about forty years ago took up small plots of wooded and rough lands hereabouts, which in those days were regarded as almost worthless and by industry and thrift have developed farms of surprising value.
