Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at St. Ann's/St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Harpers Ferry, Iowa for Karen J. Luster, age 45, who died Monday, July 8, 2002, at her home in Rochester, Minnesota. Burial was in St. Joseph's Paint Rock Cemetery. Hanson's Funeral Home, Waukon, Iowa assisted with the arrangements.

Karen Joann Schroeder was born December 23, 1956 in Rapid City, South Dakota, the daughter of Raymond Schroeder, Sr. and Irene (Monseth) Schroeder. On May 11, 1991 she married Bill Luster at St. Ann's/St.Joseph's Catholic Church, Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Karen was a certified LPN and worked as a Unit Secretary at the Mayo Clinic. She was a member of the American Auxiliary Post 722, Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

Karen is survived by her husband Bill; daughter Marsha Schroeder of Rochester, Minnesota; siblings, Raymond, Darrell, Terrance, Marianne, and Cindy, all of Rochester,and Martin Schroeder of Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
