Patricia J. Wendel, 61, of 3214 Elaine Dr. N.W., died at her home Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, from progressive supranuclear palsy. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesdy, Concordia Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Jerry Doellinger. Burial: St. John Cemetery, Newhall. Friends may call at Teahen Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas of Cedar Rapids; a son, Michael Flanagan of Manchester; a daughter, kinberly Joyce and husband Doug of Independence, Mo.; stepson, Gary Wendel and wife Shari of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters, Dianne Feld and husband Dan of Cedar Rapids and Linda Kuchenbaker and husband Dan of Peachtree City, G.; four brothers, Richard Elliott and wife Shirley of Waukon, John Loughren and wife Sally of Central City, Leo Loughren and wife Karen of Cedar Rapids and Thomas Loughren and wife Judy of Prairieburg; two sisters, Lorraine Hovey and Wendy Flanagan; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by per parents, and sister, Margaret Smith.

Patricia was born Nov. 16, 1940, in Waterloo, to Joseph and Helen (Henry) Loughren. She graduated from Central City High School in 1959. Patricia married Thomas J. Wendel on June 23, 1973, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. She owned and operted "Hair Horizons" beauty salon for many years.
