Delbert "Bud" Fink, 76, died of leukemia Saturday, June 29, 1996, in Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, LaCrosse, Wis. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, United Methodist Church. Burial: New Albin City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at New Albin Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are with Thornburg Funeral Home Lansing.
He was born Jan. 24, 1920 in French Creek Township, Allamakee County, Iowa, to John and Mayme Arndt Fink. Bud married Helen Solberg on July 6, 1951, in New Albin.
Bud was a lifelong resident of New Albin except from 1942 to 1946 when he served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bud managed the New Albin Liquor Store in New Albin for seven years and was employed by Mendenhall Lumber Co., New Albin, for 11 years. For 16 years, he worked for Roverud Construction Co. of spring Grove,Minn., and retired in 1981.
Surviving are his loving wife, Helen; two sons, Bob of LaCrosse, Wis., and Steve (Kristi) of Cedar Rapids; and many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his father- and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alphy Soldberg; two brothers, Freeman and Harris "Shooky"; brothers-in-law, Alden Solberg and Kenneth Smith; three nephews; and a niece.
