Mavis P. Nelson, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in Northgate Care Center, Waukon, following a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Martin Funeral Home, Waukon, by Kevin Krousie. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 2 to 5 Sunday at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.

Survivors include seven daughters, Loraine Kessel of Waukon, Vivian Nelson, Margaret Crowley and Rose Balderas, all of Phoenix, Bernice Fink of New Albin, Karen Brinkman of Leesburg, Fla., and Mary Ann Andregg of Lansing: two sons, Robert of Phoenix and John of Lansing: and five sisters, Norma May of Corvallis, Ore, Josephine Onsager and Ella Goeke, both of Waukon, Mildred Burt of Springfield, Mo., and Lillian Jahnke of Postville.
