Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for Alden Olander, 65, former resident of Waukon, and who died Dec. 31, at his home in Seattle, Wash., were held from the Napoleon Olander farm home to the Center Baptist church Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. L.D. Eaton, of Waukon, officiated, and burial was in the nearby cemetery.
Mr. Olander was born on a farm in Center township, east of Waukon, in December, 1880, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Olander. After he reached manhood, he went to Minot, N.D., where he was married to Alice Osland, and they resided in Minot until 1943, when they moved to Seattle, where he has since been employed in the ship yards.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Alden, Jr., of Indianapolis, Ind., and Edward, of Seattle; a brother, Napoleon, of Center township; and two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Anderson, Center township, and Mrs. Otto Mahlow, Minneapolis, Minn.
