Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the home and 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Jimmie Jahnke, 9, who passed away following a brief illness on January 5.
The rites were in charge of Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Paul's. Burial was in Postville Cemetery.
Jimmie Alan Henry Jahnke, son of Lester Jahnke and Gertrude Luebka Jahnke, was born December 29, 1942, at Postville, and departed this life after a brief illness on January 5, 1952, at Postville, aged nine years and six days.
Jimmie was made a christian through the sacrament of Holy Baptism on March 14, 1943, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Postville.
Jimmie spent his entire life in the Postville community. He had attended country school until the current school year. During the present school year he attended the Postville school and was enrolled in the third grade.
Left to mourn his passing are his parents, two brothers: Leslie and Ronald, both at home; as well as other relatives and friends.
