Rites Held For Mrs. Jahncke

Mrs. Fred W. Jahncke, nee Floy Mae Candee, the daughter of Ace Candee and his wife Eva N. Hinman Candee, was born November 4, 1888, at Hardin. She died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville on December 26, 1961 at the age of 73 years, one month and 22 days.

She attended school at Hardin, and was married to Fred W. Jahncke on December 2, 1921. To this union was born one daughter, Ethel Mae, and two sons, Donald and Elbert.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Ethel Mae Pearson of Chicago; two sons, Donald of Blue Island, Illinois and Elbert of Postville; one grandson, Richard Pearson of Chicago; and four brothers, Roy of Volga City, Lance of Manchester, Levi of Maynard, and Clifton of Holland, Michigan.

She entered the Community Memorial Hospital on September 20, where she remained until her death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Schutte Funeral Home on December 29, 1961, with the Rev. Charles E. Witt, Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
