Mrs. Leo (Catherine "Kay”) Heiderscheit, 57, New Albin, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, in a La Crosse, Wis., hospital of an apparent heart attack.

She was born Feb. 22,1920, in Cascade, to Jacob and Katheryn (McGrath) Leytem. She married Leo Heiderscheit in Asbury.

Survivors are her husband; four sons, L. Thomas of Durham, N.C., Gerald, an Air Force captain at Ft. Worth, Tex., and Charles and Robert, both of La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Jean) Herbeck of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Paul (Kathy) Schams of La Crosse; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold and John Leytem, both of Dubuque; and four sisters, Mary Leytem, Mrs. Dorrance (Elaine) Meloy, and Mrs. Leslie (Patricia) Furuseth, all of Dubuque, and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Otting of Cascade.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, New Albin. Revs. Linus Rasing and Robert Levenhagen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the New Albin Chapel Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Rosary to be at 8 p.m.

Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, is in charge of arrangements.
