Donald E. Nelson, 58, of Caledonia, MN, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1985, in his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Allamakee County to Nels and Clara (Gran) Nelson.

He married Wilma Link in Caledonia on April 6, 1953.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was employed as a truck driver.

Survivors are his wife and mother of Caledonia; four brothers, Lyle and Robert of Caledonia, Gerald of La Crosse, WI, and Merlin of Dorchester; and a sister, Beverly Welscher of Caledonia.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Steffen Funeral Home, Caledonia, and at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. The Rev. Joseph Cashman will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 8 p.m.
