Lawrence A. Bakewell, 56, of near New Albin, died Thursday (Nov. 3) in a La Crosse, WI, hospital of injuries suffered Sept. 17. in a silo-filling accident on his farm.

Authorities say Bakewell and a neighbor, Leonard Moore, were using a silage unloader when Bakewell slipped and fell. One of the tines on a pitchfork-like device on the unloader pierced his skull.

Survivors are his wife, a son, a daughter, and several sisters and brothers.
