Edward "Tuck" Easton was born Dec. 14, 1918, in New Albin to Donald and Malenda (Welper) Easton, and attended school in Hesper, MN. "Tuck" grew up and lived in the Hesper and New Albin area, and moved to Waukon about 30 years ago.

On Oct. 6, 1962, he married Ethel (Haerer) Russell in Lansing. He was employed in road construction by Roverud Construction, Spring Grove, MN, for 17 years. He had also worked with threshing crews in the Dakotas and Nebraska, and farmed with his father.

He was a former member of the IOOF Lodge in Decorah.

"Tuck" died Friday, May 28, 1993, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. He was 74.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel of Waukon; six daughters, Vicky Easton, Susan Easton, and Julie (Mrs. Bob) Gericke, all of Waukon, Bonnie (Mrs. Kevin) Dundee of Luana, Linda (Mrs. Kevin) Miller of Independence, and Diane (Mrs. Steve) McDonough of Nora Springs; and five sons, Dean (Barb) Russell of Waukon, Randy (Sue) Russell of Ridgeway, Richard (Renee) Russell of Marquette, Roger Russell of Waukon, and Gary Russell of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; and two sisters, Iris (Mrs. Armin) Ranzenberger of Spring Grove, MN, and Donna Arneson of Decorah.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene and Betty Lou Easton, and Eleanor Dehning; and two brothers, Hilman and Arthur.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jun 2, at Martin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Richard Easton, Dean and Don Ranzenberger, Ronnie, Duane and Harlan Dehning, and Mark, Gary and Randy Arneson.

Honorary casket bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hagen and Robert Russell.
