Anna Marie Pohlman, 89, of New Albin, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 1994, at her home.

She was born April 24, 1905, in New Albin, to Frederick Christian and Maria Catherine (Timmerman) Meyer.

Sept. 9, 1926, she married Paulus L. Pohlman in Waukon.

She was a New Albin High School graduate, and a lifelong area resident. She had owned and operated Pohlman's Bait and Tackle Shop in New Albin.

She was a friend of the United Methodist Church, New Albin, and a member of the United Methodist Ladies Aid Society.

Anna is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Jewell and Paula (Earl) Wohlers, New Albin; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Nov. 1, at Grace United Methodist Church, New Albin. Pastor Tom Mattson officiated and burial was in the New Albin City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Edgar Wuennecke, Paul Gade, Edward Jordan, Merlin Reinke, Robert Ellis and Allen Meiners.

Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove, MN, was in charge of arrangements.
