Otto W. Luttchens, 81, OF New Albin, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1993, in Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wisc.

He was born August 30, 1912, in Jefferson Township, Houston County, Minn., to Otto Sr. and Matilda (Pohlman) Luttchens. He married Audrey Schroeder Nov. 24, 1942.

Otto worked for many years as a carpenter in the New Albin area. He was also a commercial fisherman, and he farmed in Jefferson township. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, serving on the church council and serving the church with his carpentry skills. Otto was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and trapping, as well as gardening and raising flowers. He also enjoyed spending much time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; three daughters, Rita (Curtis) Beardmore of New Albin, Anita (Gerald) Meyer of rural Dorchester, and Linda (Kent) Tanner of New Albin; six grandchildren, Terry (MariLee) Beardmore, Cindy (John) Costello, Gary (Becky) Meyer, Becky Meyer, and Christopher and Lindsey Tanner; and five great-grandchildren. Otto was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin. The Rev. Dennis Siebert will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's U.C.C. Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at New Albin Funeral Chapel, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday, at the church. The Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, Minn., is in charge of arrangements.
