Louis W. Breeser, 82, of New Albin, died Thursday Sept. 15, 1994, in Roseview Court, Caledonia, Minn.
He was born July 2, 1912, in Allamakee County, Iowa Township, to Herman and Anna (Ehlers) Breeser. On Oct. 21, 1936, he married Lillian Meyer; they later divorced.
Louis worked at the Lansing Garage as a farm implement mechanic for many years until his retirement in 1977. He was a life-long member of St. John's United Church of Christ (Wheatland Church) in rural New Albin.
Survivors include a daughter, Lila (Larry) Cina of Viroqua, Wis.; four sons, Gilman (Luise) Breeser of La Crescent, Minn., Gerald (Delores) Breeser of Waukon, Iowa, Melvin (Joyce) Breeser of New Albin, and Randy Breeser of Whitewater, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Laura Beeser of New Albin. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Breeser; and a great-granddaughter, Casey Lynn Cina.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, in St. John's United Church of Christ (Wheatland Church), rural New Albin. The Revs. Lawrence and Laura Odegard will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the New Albin Funeral Chapel in New Albin, Iowa, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and from 1 p.m. until the time of services Sunday in the church. The Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home of Caledonia is in charge of arrangements.
