Clifford E. Gruber, 80, of Lansing, died Tuesday, Aug. 22 at his home.

he was born April 23, 1898, in rural Lansing to Edward and Mary (Henry) Gruber. He married Esther Thompson in Waukon Feb. 14, 1928. He was a farmer until retiring in 1963.

Survivors include his wife; one son, James C. of Lansing; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Preston of Kennewick, WA; six grandchildren; one brother, Harold of Waukon; and one sister, Florence Jordan of New Albin.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Lansing, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing.
