Early - At her residence in Post township, Allamakee county, Iowa, March 12th, 1901, of heart disease, Mrs. Susan Early.

Susan Patterson-Early was born Oct. 16th, 1835, in Morgan county, Ohio, and came to Allamakee county with her parents, William and Mary Patterson, April 23, 1854.

She was married May 24, 1855, to Moses B. Early, who died Nov. 20th, 1864, leaving three small children, two of whom survive her.

At 19 years of age she joined the Methodist church and later the United Brethern, of which she was a faithful member at her death.

By her death her children have lost a true and loving mother, the Bethel church an earnest and faithful worker, a true and loving Christian; the community a warm and sympathizing friend, who has departed from among us to return no more.
