Capt. Hollingshead Drowned.
Lansing April 15.- Captain Horace Holllngshead, the old and well-known river pilot, who has been clamming and living in a shanty boat about a mile north of this city for some months past, was drowned last evening between 7 and 8 o’clock. He had been to town and left for home about 7 in the evening with a new coal stove in his {?}at. The boat was discovered afloat, later on, and brought to shore by some clammers in the vicinity. This morning, on repairing to his place of abode, he could not be found, but the mystery was solved by discovery of the oars in a willow, and not over fifty feet from his home the body was found, with one band clinging to some willows in an almost upright position. The water where he was found was between five and six feet deep. Deceased was aged about 65 years. Captain Hollingshead was one of the best known of the upper river men.
