Funeral Services for Helmer Kolsrud

Final rites were held Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m. from East Paint Creek Synod church for Helmer G. Kolsrud, 75, of Waterville, who died Monday, Feb. 11 in Waterville at the home of his sister Mrs. Stella Kolsrud.

The Rev. Thomas Mickelson was the officiating minister and interment was in the church cemetery. Ingeman Larson, George Sorenson, Louie Kuntz, Wayne Thorstenson, Norman Monserud and James Gruber were pallbearers. Martin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kolsrud was born Feb. 27, 1898 in Paint Creek township and was a son of Sander and Anna Hanson Kolsrud. He attended the local schools and was employed as a carpenter and painter.

November 28, 1923 he married Emma Busness in the East Paint Creek Synod Church. She survives with a son Robert, who is in the service stationed in Middletown, R.I.; four grand-children; four brothers, Sidney of Waukon, Tennis of Dubuque, Gilman and Floyd of Waterville, and three sisters, Mrs. Stella Kolsrud of Waterville, Mrs. Theodore Geving and Mrs. Melvin Gjefle of Waukon. Two brothers, Dewey and Odin, and a sister Bertha, preceded him in death.

Mr. Kolsrud was employed as a township trustee for many years and was a member of East Paint Creek Synod church.
