Waukon- Lillian C. Christianson, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, in her home following a sudden illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church, Waterville, by Pastor Ken Kimball. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.

Survivors include a sister, Verna Samb of LaCrosse, Wis.; and a brother, Charles Christianson of Waterville.

Lillian C. Christianson, 80, of Waukon, died suddenly at her home on December 25. Funeral services will be held December 29, 1:30 p.m., at the Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church in Waterville with Pastor Ken Kimball officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home.

Lillian Claranda Christianson was born on February 23, 1919 on the rural Waterville farm of her parents, Carl A. and Thorine (Anderson) Christianson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church, were she remained a life-long member. She attended the rural "Dalby School" in Center Township and graduated from Waukon High School in 1940. Following high school she attended the Waterloo School of Beauty along with her sister Verna. Upon graduation, they were employed by Carl Halverson's Mariposa Beauty and Barber Shop at the corner of Spring Avenue and East Main in Waukon. After many years in this profession, Lillian established The Queen Shop, a store specializing in large size clothing for women, in the same location.

She was a member of the Naomi Circle at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church. Lillian spent a considerable amount of time visiting with shut-ins and people in the nursing homes.

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, brother Edwin Christianson and Ellen Marti. Survivors include a sister Verna Samb of La Crosse, WI, brother Charles (Helen) Christianson, Waterville, and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary casketbearers were Carl, Dick, Steve and Jim Christianson and Robert and Richard Marti. Casketbearers were Melbourne Evanson, Orville Bratrud, Lloyd Olson, Bob Thompson, Dennis Herman and Tom Troendle.

The Martin Funeral Home of Waukon is in charge of the arrangements.
