Harvey Laverne Olsen,age 72,of Lansing,Iowa died Thursday,November 12, 2015 at the Living Center East Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was born January 25, 1943 to Berger and Jeannette (Johnson) Olsen in Lansing, Iowa. Harvey graduated in 1962 from the Eastern Allamakee High School,Lansing. He was united in marriage with Shirley Burns in 1964. Three children were born to this union. Harvey served as a custodian for the Lansing schools for over 30 years.

Harvey is survived by his children: Pam Clark of Milwaukee,Wisconsin, Pat (Cathy) Olsen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Kevin (Carol) Olsen of Wauzeka, Wisconsin; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mildred Bechtel of Lansing, Elmer (Charlotte) Olsen of Cedar Rapids, Alfred Olsen of Waukon, Iowa, Eleanor Thorpe of Cedar Rapids, LeRoy (Shirley) Olsen of Marshalltown,Iowa and Jim (Jan) Olsen of Lowden, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents Berger and Jeannette Olsen and two brothers, Joseph and Floyd Olsen.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday November 16 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing with visitation one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lansing, Iowa.
