Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Tue., 27 Mar. 1945.

Waukon- Funeral services for Paul Larson, 77, who died Saturday at his home here after a short illness, were held Tuesday afternoon, from the Martin brothers funeral parlors to the Old East Paint Creek Church. The Rev. Oscar Haugstul officiated, and burial was in the nearby cemetery.

Mr. Larson was born on a farm east of Waukon, on June 22, 1867, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Larson, and following his marriage to Hannah Kolsrud, resided on a farm in that vicinity until 12 years ago, when they retired to Waukon.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Harvey Stock, Waukon, Mrs. Albert Hanson, Waterville, Ia., Mrs. Ray Foltz, Waterloo, Ia., and Mrs. Esther Clinton, Des Moines, Ia.; two sons, Theodore, Waukon, and Herbert, on a farm east of Waukon; three brothers, Charles Larson, Waterville, Edward, of Dubuque, Ia., and Jake, of Austin, Minn.; and a sister, Julia. A daughter, Mrs. Henry Kosbau, died in April, 1944.

Submitter is great-grandson of Paul and Hannah (Kolsrud) Larson, and a grandson of John Arthur and Esther A. (Larson) Pederson. John and Esther divorced prior to the death of Paul Larson, but I have found no record to establish that Esther ever married a man by the surname Clinton as represented in Paul Larson's obituary. Esther is buried as Esther Pederson very near her parents, a brother and a sister in Old East Paint Creek Cemetery.
