Funeral services were held Monday, May 19, 1969 at 2 p.m. from Martin Brothers Funeral Home for Creston Calvin "Pinger" Kelly, 65, of Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. William Tjaden officiated and interment was in the Oakland Cemetery. Lyal Mitchell, LeRoy McCabe, Cyril Wiedner, Martin Hayes, Dale Robey, and Dr. John Cox were casketbearers.

Mr. Kelly died at his home in Waukon Friday evening May 16, 1969 following a heart attack. He was born in Paint Creek Township, Allamakee County, Iowa on May 29, 1903 to Jessie Lewis Kelly and Angie (Robey) Kelly. He graduated from the Waukon High School and Waukon Junior College and attended the LaCrosse Business College in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

On March 20, 1926 he married Thelma Garrison in Rantoul, Illinois. She survives him along with their three sons Donald Kelly of Nashville, Tennessee, Forest "Toey" Kelly of Postville, Iowa, and James Kelly of Forest Park, Illinois. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Earl Kelly, and a grandson, Steven Dale Kelly.

Mr. Kelly was employed as a farmer and assessor and special agent for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge.
