Hazel Marie Kelly

Hazel Marie Kelly, 59, of Keokuk, died Friday, Feb. 22 in Keokuk Area Hospital.

She was born on Aug. 6, 1931 in Keokuk, the daughter of Charles Thomas and Lucretia Mae Langley Boston. She married Charles R. Kelly, Sr. on Feb. 12, 1949 in Keokuk. She was a lifelong resident of Keokuk. She was a registered nurse and had been employed in the Pediatrics Department of St. Joseph Hospital. She was a member of the Nazarene Church.

Survivors include her husband of Keokuk; a son, Charles R. Kelly, Jr., Postville; 3 daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Penny) Logsdon, Keokuk, Mrs. Richard (Patricia) White, Ft. Madison and Mrs. Craig (Gail) David, Keokuk; 3 brothers, the Rev. Leroy Boston, Bettendorf, the Rev. Hollis Boston, Willshire, OH and Ivan Boston, Keokuk; 4 sisters, Mabel Mitten, Medill, MO, Geraldine Clark, Swisher, Leota Kendziorek, Bradley, IL and Twilla Oberg, Kingdom City, MO; a half-sister, Leona Chance of Des Moines and 9 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 2 half-brothers.

Services were held Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. at Greaves Mortuary with the Rev. Dan David officiating.

Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery.

Postville Herald newspaper clipping, hand dated 1991, from my mother's obituary collection.
