Lloyd Kamp

Lloyd William Kamp, the son of William Kamp and Bertha Martens Kamp, was born in Winneshiek county, Iowa on November 3, 1911. He was baptized in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville on May 23, 1912 and confirmed on August 21, 1926. He died at the Community Memorial Hospital on March 4, 1965 at the age of 53 years, four months and one day, following a lingering illness.

He was married to Clara Schnuelle on January 27, 1932. To this union were born three sons and two daughters.

He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Leonard of Waterloo; one sister, Velma, Mrs. Clarence Nelson of Postville; and one grandson, Gregory Kamp of Decorah.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. William Kamp of Postville, two sons, Charles of Sumner, and Kenneth of Decorah; two daughters, Lorraine, Mrs. Don Vondersitt of Calmar and Ileta, Mrs. Tex Borg of Forrest City; three brothers, Edward of Clermont, Art of Stillwater, Minnesota, and Emil of Postville; five grandsons and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Postville, on Sunday, March 7, 2:00 p.m. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery with the Rev. Charles E. Witt, Pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.
