Waukon, Ia., May 7, - Special:

Mrs. Elton Kessel, 40, died at the Decorah Hospital Sunday evening following an operation for gallstones and appendicitis. Mrs. Kessel, nee Isabella Ellefson, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Ellefson of Lafayette Township.

She was suddenly taken ill Saturday and was immediately rushed to the Decorah Hospital, where she failed to stand the shock of the operation. She is survived by her husband, one small son, her parents, one sister, Josephine, and five brothers, Melvin, Oscar, and Paul of Center Township and Jens and Ofe at home.
