Charlotte Mae Krambeer was born October 15, 1920, at Decorah, IA, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis. She received her education in Winneshiek County schools. She worked as a hired girl and caretaker in her younger years. Charlotte married Leo Leibold on November 2, 1938, at Ossian, IA. She worked as a cook at the DeSales school for many years.

She married Myron Krambeer on September 20, 1962. They moved to New Albin where they owned a tavern business, retiring in 1982. Myron died December 4, 1997.

Due to ill health, she became a resident of Good Samaritan Home in Waukon, where she suffered a stroke on November 23, 1998.

She is survived by children: Richard and Sue Leibold of Ossian; James and Lesli Leibold of Silverdale, WA; Ronald and Linda Leibold of Poulsbo, WA; Jeanette and James Bradwell of Bremerton, WA; Beverly and Vernon Hartson of Elgin, IA; Cleone Schissel of Milan, IL; Merlin and Margaret Krambeer of New Albin; Carol and Roger Balk of Decorah; and Sharon and James Spilde of Cresco, IA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a half-sister, Myrtle Snitker of Decorah. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph, Roy and Lyle Lewis; a sister, Helen Bray; and her husband, Myron.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 8, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the New Albin Community Center. The Rev. Tom Mattson officiated, and burial was in Postville Cemetery.
