Clara E. Paus, 87, formerly of Hokah, Minn., died Friday, June 18, 1999, at the La Crescent Health Care Center.

She was born August 6, 1911, in Allamakee County, Iowa, to Henry and Elizabeth (Wenig) Dresselhaus. On September 20, 1933, she married Harry Paus in Eitzen, Minn., and one year later they moved to Caledonia. For many years, Clara and Harry owned and operated the Fisher man's Paradise Restaurant and Bait Shop which was located between Reno, Minn. and New Albin, Iowa. After their retire ment, they moved to Hokah, Minn. On September 15, 1975, Harry preceded Clara in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris (Robert) Von Arx of Hokah; three grandchildren, Susan Horihan of La Crescent, Minn., David Von Arx of Hokah and Karen (Ron) Petersen of La Crescent; four great-grandchil dren, Ryan and Teri Horihan, Carlie Rae Von Arx and Jonathan Petersen; and a broth er, George (Evelyn) Dresselhaus of McGregor, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, Clara was preceded in death by her parents; an infant grand daughter; and a sister, Florence Martin.

Funeral services will be Mon day, June 21, 1999, at 1 p.m., from the Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, 518 W. Main St., Caledonia. Chaplain Allan Saugstad of the Franciscan Skemp Hospice Program will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Monday from noon until the time of service.
